Why do I like Popart so much?
- Popart makes nostalgia and historical connections: there is often created a bridge between something in the past and something in the present. This makes it also possible for an artist like me to make a connection between my favorite artists like Vincent van Gogh representing the past and the Bored Ape Club in the present.
- Popart takes care of the reverence of cultural icons: some actors for example can be revived in the art and in popart style and be able to be trendy again. So many years later you see some cultural icons are for ever!
- Popart makes it possible to present art with a message: a lot of times there is a level of humor in it and I am really sensitive for funny or creative texts.
- I think Popart is also accessible to all people: young and old can enjoy all the different forms of popart. Every can find something of their taste,
- The medium can vary a lot: some artists are using paint, some make sculptures, prints, digital formats or using carbage and combine the parts in their popart piece. There are no boundaries. And takes care of a lot of creativity possibilities.
